EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a research-based counseling intervention that mimics the brain processes that occur naturally during REM sleep. Originally developed as a treatment for the effects of trauma and post traumatic stress disorder, EMDR has also proven helpful for treating anxiety, depression, panic disorders, and challenges with substance use. It is recognized by national and international organizations as an effective treatment, and for many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than with other methods.
